With a 5.5in screen, the Galaxy Note 2 is almost too big for your pocket. However, the inclusion of a stylus means it offers a great alternative to those who find normal smartphones too small, or want to move up to something more tablet-like without going all the way
The size of the Galaxy Note 2 won t suit everyone: at 5.5in, it s exactly halfway between an iPhone 5 (4in) and a 7in tablet, such as the Google Nexus 7, which makes it large for a phone. Also, it doesn t rely on touch alone, but with a stylus (called an S Pen ). When this out of its socket, you immediately get access to note templates, ready to be filled in. It also adds extra functionality, so you can perform gestures to call up particular apps, and hover the pen above the screen to do clever things like preview a photo or get a quick glance at someone s contact details. It has the same quad-core processor as the Galaxy S3, and completed the SunSpider test in 1,042ms, coming third overall. It also has an impressive battery with 80 per cent charge left after 24 hours of light use. However, contracts start at 31 per month if you re avoiding paying upfront.
