As you re probably aware, a screen saver displays moving designs on your computer screen when you haven t typed or moved the mouse for a while. Originally, screen savers were intended to prevent static images from burning onto monitor screens. While burn-in was an issue with old CRT monitors, today s LCD monitors don t have that problem. Still, screen savers remain popular, for their entertainment value if nothing else. To activate one of the screen savers included with Windows 7, follow these steps:
1. From the Control Panel, select Personalize. (Alternately, right-click anywhere on the desktop and click Personalize from the pop-up menu.)
2. When the Personalization window appears, click Screen Saver.
3. When the Screen Saver Settings dialog box appears
, select a screen saver from the Screen Saver drop-down list.
4. Click the Settings button to configure that screen saver s specific settings (if available).
5. Click OK when you re done.
