Changing Display Resolution  The look and feel of your desktop is also influenced by the resolution of  the screen. A larger (higher resolution) desktop lets you view more things  onscreen at the same time even though each item is smaller than  before. A smaller (lower resolution) desktop displays fewer items, but  they re larger. (This is great if your eyesight is less than perfect.)  You change the size of the desktop by changing Windows  screen  resolution. Follow these steps:
1. Right-click anywhere on the desktop and select Screen Resolution  from the pop-up menu.
2. When the Screen Resolution window appears, click the Resolution button and use the slider to select a new  resolution. Move the slider up to set a higher resolution (and display  more items on the desktop); move it down to set a lower resolution.
3. Click OK to apply your changes.

tip  To best use all the features of Windows 7, go for a 1024 x 768 or higher resolution.  If this setting makes things look too small (a problem if you have a smaller  monitor), try the 800 x 600 resolution.
