Creating New Shortcuts Windows 7

You can create shortcuts for both applications and individual documents.  Here s how to put a new shortcut on the desktop:
1. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the application or document  for which you want to create a shortcut.
2. Right-click the program or file icon and then select Send To, Desktop  (Create Shortcut).
But that s just one way to do it.
You can also create a shortcut by rightdragging  a file icon directly to the desktop, or by right-clicking on the  desktop and selecting New, Shortcut from the pop-up menu. However you  do it, you end up with a new desktop icon.
